Argyll is a diamond mining area in Australia. 90% of the rare pink diamonds in the world are excavated in the Argyll mine. Pink diamonds are the most famous color among the diamonds produced by Argyll. Other colored diamonds are also produced, such as yellow diamonds, blue diamonds and extremely rare red diamonds.
Although there are many diamonds in the Argyll mine, pink diamonds are very rare, less than 0.01% of the output of the Argyll mine. The Argyll Mine is actually one of the richest diamond mines in the world, mining about 35 million carats of diamonds each year, but few diamonds reach the jewelry grade.
Argyll pink diamonds have stronger concentration and color saturation than pink diamonds in other mines, mainly because the stone in the wood grain straight line or plane (knot layer) contributes to its stronger color.
