How to distinguish three kinds of imitation pearls?
ABS plastic imitation pearl
ABS plastic imitation pearls are easily identified. Its surface is very smooth, the color is uniform but very rigid, the luster does not have the agility of natural pearls, it is slightly lighter in the hand, and has no texture. Putting it together with natural pearls makes it easy to see the difference between the two. And it is easy to peel off, and it will naturally reveal itself after a period of time.
Glass pearl
Although its luster looks slightly better than plastic pearls, it still looks dull. And when these imitation pearls are put together, they will appear uniform and heavy in color. There will be more or less color differences between natural pearls, because real pearls will have colorful and different colors under the light. If the beads rub against each other or deliberately scrape the skin with a knife, they will peel off.
In addition, glass pearls are often made into some very bright colors, and it is almost impossible for pearls in nature to have such a "weird" color. So if you see a similar color, you can basically confirm that it is an imitation pearl.

Shell pearl
Shell beads and natural pearls are similar in appearance and can be easily confused if you don't distinguish them carefully, but their identification is relatively easy. There is a transparent film on the outside of the shell beads, which is invisible, but when you drop it hard on the ground or scrape it with a blade, the film will be broken and exposed, just like breaking a transparent plastic bag. And because they are made of molds, they are all very precise circles.
In addition, from the perspective of the holes, natural pearls can see a layered structure, but this structure is not seen in the pores of shell beads and all imitation pearls, and plastic or glass cores can also be seen.
